Fort Myers Beach has been one of our favorite places to photograph portrait sessions. Whether it be for a golden-hour sunset engagement session, or a stunning sunrise family session, you really can’t go wrong with booking a session at Fort Myers Beach. After taking photos with your fiancé or family, grab a bite to eat and explore the area’s boardwalks and shops in Times Square.
Southwest Florida is an absolutely incredible destination, and one we are now thrilled to be able to call our “home away from home.” Whether you are traveling for a vacation, or in the area for a wedding, engagement, or portrait session, we have discovered a few new favorites this year, and wanted to share them with you!
Beaches we Visited: Fort Myers Beach with its Fishing Pier, boardwalk, and shopping areas, and Bowditch Point Park, located at the northern tip of Estero Island with its quiet, serene, island-like beach with walking trails.
Parking: Parking costs around $2 or $3 per hour
Walk to Beach: The distance from the parking lot to the water’s edge is not too far of a walk. Street and lot parking can be very busy during the evening and so plan to arrive for your session early to find a spot!
Amenities: The beach area does have restrooms for a place to change for your photo session.
A few dining favs: Check out the area for nearby and local farmers markets! We have discovered some tasty treats, local fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed lemonade that were all amazing!
Whether you are visiting Florida on vacation, here for your destination wedding, engagement, or portrait session, or simply planning a day at the beach with family and friends, we hope that these ideas are helpful as you plan your time in the beautiful sunshine state!
