Taylors Falls, Minnesota | Engagement

We first connected with Emily through a mutual friend who happened to be one of our previous brides from a wedding we photographed a few years ago.  We could not be more grateful for her referral and for Emily’s kind words when she reached out to contact us!  Emily and Robert are such a sweet and genuine couple and have been so much fun to get to know!  We were so excited for their fall engagement session at the beautiful Taylors Falls.

Emily and Robert looked amazing and Drybar in Wayzata did a gorgeous job on Emily’s hair!  Her dress was absolutely breathtaking!  She found it online and had it modified by adding a slit to create the perfect flow as she walked.  We can’t get enough of the deep burgundy colors this fall and Emily’s dress, along with Robert’s shades of green and khaki coordinated perfectly with the colors of the rocks and leaves.  One of our favorite challenges is to find the perfect backdrop for each engagement session outfit. Their colors and textures, along with the soft, even light made this session a breeze!

We had such a great time chatting about wedding plans as we walked along the St. Croix River’s edge. These two are getting married next year at the incredible Minikahda Club and we can’t wait!  We know their day will be absolutely stunning!  With their wedding venue featuring epic views of both the city skyline and the beach of Bde Maka Ska lake, we love that Emily and Robert chose rock cliffs and woods for their engagement session to add variety into their photos.  We have loved working with these two and can’t wait to celebrate their big day with their friends and family next fall.  We are already counting down the days until 2021!
