Minnesota State Fair | Fall Family Portrait Session

When Jenny tells us she has a great idea for family photos, we know we are always in for a treat!  This year did not disappoint as she explained her vision of booking their session at the great Minnesota get-together!  The Minnesota State Fair is definitely an experience to check off your bucket list at least once.  We can’t think of any other destination that offers 322 acres of entertainment, 220 different events, and now over 500 unique things to eat!  A crowd favorite is always Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar.  With over 3 million chocolate chip cookies produced per day, there is sure to be a bucket full for everyone!

Open in late-August and running through Labor Day, there are plenty of opportunities, both mid-week and on the weekends, to join the more than 2 million guests out enjoying Minnesota’s best weather and most delicious foods around!  In order to beat the crowds, we knew we needed to be strategic when scheduling a photo session.  We planned to begin at 7:30 am on the Friday morning of the last week the fair was open.  We met at Midway, not only to use the brightly colored backdrops of the rides, lights, and prizes, but also because the attractions were not scheduled to begin running until mid-morning and we were able to capture the grounds without the typical crowds.

The sun was slowly rising through the trees and we couldn’t have had a more beautiful morning.  Jenny had the best outfits for the setting and the bright, bold colors made this session so much fun!  The kids did an amazing job, as always, and we had the best time exploring the grounds together!  We are incredibly grateful to have been able to capture this family over the last several years and are already looking forward to next year!
