FAQ, Gear & Locations | Photography

What kind of equipment do you use?

I photograph with two Canon 5D MKIV and the newest Canon EOS R camera.  For lenses, I love the unique romantic blurry backgrounds that the very best prime lenses create.  Far and away, my most favorite lens is my new Canon RF 50mm f/1.2. It is tack sharp, has perfect color, and crazy background blur.

My gear includes:

Do you have a studio?

I don’t use a studio.  I prefer to use outdoor settings but do have a few indoor options if the weather does not cooperate on the day of your session or we can reschedule if needed!

What kinds of locations do you use?

For senior portraits and family sessions, I photograph within the northern suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul and use a variety of both urban downtown areas and natural parks with wooded areas and fields.  Some of our favorite locations for engagement sessions include St. Anthony Main in Minneapolis for urban sessions and Taylors Falls for a natural setting.

Do you travel?

Yes, we do travel and have been honored to photograph several out-of-state destination weddings!  Please contact us for questions on destination weddings or locations outside of the Twin Cities to determine traveling fees.  Due to the increase in the number of bookings for family sessions and how quickly our schedule fills, we are unable to travel outside of the north-metro for family and senior portrait sessions.  However, we have amazing natural locations in Andover, Ham Lake, and Forest Lake that we love!

Can we bring our pet to our session?

Yes!  We love including pets, props, and other things that reflect who you are!  Just check with us first to be sure the location we are using allows animals.  Please arrange for another person to come along to supervise your pet or provide a safe place for them to stay during photos that do not include him/her.
