One of our favorite parts of meeting couples for engagement sessions is getting to know their story, how they met and fell in love, and what makes them unique! When we learned that Sadie and Colin met in the North Loop, we knew the Warehouse District was the perfect spot for their engagement session! One of their favorite things to do together is to take walks along the river and through the parks of Minneapolis. We set off to explore together on one of the most gorgeous fall evenings of the year!

We began by exploring the Warehouse District – one of our favorite places to photograph! The area has so much character and variety all within blocks of walking. We loved the pop of Sadie’s burgundy cardigan against the brick! Warm, deep colors coordinate perfectly with both fall colors and the colors of the city! Casual looks are also perfect for fall sessions and Colin’s grey and plaid worked great with both of Sadie’s outfits.

When choosing outfits for engagement sessions, you don’t need to rely on jewelry or accessories to show some personality. The back of Sadie’s cozy grey sweater was our absolute favorite! Warm fabrics like knits and flannels are perfect options for fall engagement photos!

We also loved that this couple decided to use the same season for their engagement session and their wedding! Their save-the-dates will coordinate perfectly with their fall wedding theme and the city skyline was the ideal way to celebrate what is uniquely them! We ended their session with skyline photos during golden hour and they were absolutely incredible! The epic views of the city and the way that the light played as Sadie and Colin danced the evening away made for some incredibly romantic shots! We cannot wait to continue with more photos at their St. Paul wedding next fall!
