JX Event Venue | Fall Wedding

Fall is our favorite.  Rich, vibrant colors, cool, crisp air, and the busiest wedding season in Minnesota!  We always look forward to fall weddings and Emily and Brett’s day at the JX Event Venue was absolutely gorgeous!  We are often asked what a typical timeline for a wedding day looks like.  We always work with our couples to create customized timelines that allow enough time to cover the main events of each unique day beginning with detail and venue photos all the way through the first hour of the dance.  This wedding’s timeline looked like this:
  • 11:30 am – Photos begin with details and the girls getting ready (these photos are always some of our favorites – especially when the ladies have matching robes!)
  • 12:30 pm – Bride puts on her dress and has her first look with her father (always some of the sweetest emotional photos.)
  • 12:45 pm – Photos of Groom and his groomsmen getting ready (matching robes not required 😉 )
  • 1:00 pm – Bride and Groom’s first look followed by portraits at various locations (this one around gorgeous Stillwater, MN)
  • 2:30 pm – Family photos (we recommend that these take place at the ceremony venue for convenience, especially for grandparents and children in the wedding party)
  • 3:30 pm – Photos of ceremony details while the wedding party rests before the ceremony (we recommend at least 30 minutes of time between formal photos and the ceremony)
  • 4:00 pm – Ceremony followed by bride and groom dismissing guests
  • 4:45 pm – Cocktail hour (during which the wedding party departs on a Trolley Ride for photos around Stillwater)
  • 6:15 pm – Wedding party arrives at reception and lines up for grand march
  • 6:30 pm – Grand March (we love it when the wedding party gets creative in their entrances!)
  • 6:45 pm – Welcome, prayer, and dinner is served
  • 7:30 pm – Maid of Honor and Best Man Speeches (also one of our favorite moments for capturing emotional photos!)
  • 8:00 pm – Bride and Groom’s first dance, Father/Daughter dance, and Mother/son dance
  • 8:15 pm – Open Dance floor (this time can also be used for sparkler exits)
  • 9:30 pm – Photos end (we love to relive the day through the photos and get so excited to deliver them!)
