Ham Lake | Summer Engagement

There is nothing better than a gorgeous summer evening for an engagement session.  Warm air, light through the later-night, and the aroma of freshly cut grass and sweet-smelling July blooms make for an incredibly romantic setting.  This night was amazing!  Hannah and Darren drove down from Osakis for their summer engagement session and we couldn’t have been happier with the soft, evening light!  The warm, summer breeze was gently blowing through the willows and the water in the pond was still and calm reflecting the sky beautifully beneath our favorite white bridge.  These two were so sweet and we had such a great time capturing their relationship in the images!  They had asked for a natural setting for their session and we couldn’t have been happier with the way this one fit!

There are so many things we love about this location!  Whenever our couples are looking for a natural setting, this is our go-to for willow trees, water, tall pines, fields of flowers, etc.  It literally has it all!  The flowers were in full bloom in the fields and we absolutely loved the way Hannah’s long, flowing dress and the gorgeous texture of her wavy hair worked with the grassy fields.  These two are such a beautiful couple and their colors were perfect for this setting!

They have a winter wedding planned and we love that they chose to do their engagement session in the summer to have a variety of seasons for their photos!  We can’t wait for their big day at Crooked Willow Weddings and Events in Osakis, MN.  It’s a venue we have not photographed before but are so excited to have the opportunity to do so!  Its rustic, elegant, and charming setting will be absolutely perfect for Hannah and Darren’s big day!
