Spring is in full swing here in sunny Minneapolis!  This gorgeous couple booked their engagement session with us and we were beyond thrilled to capture a piece of their love story before their fall wedding in Colorado!  Rikara and David were so much fun to spend the day with and arrived in the most perfect spring outfits.  We love pastels and the way that they photograph and fell completely in love with Rikara’s floral white dress.  Every detail was perfectly coordinated and from the jewelry to the shoes – these two looked amazing!  David looked classy in both his dress shirt and his more casual option.  We always recommend bringing at least two outfits – it allows for great variety!

We also loved the variety in the light and time of day of this session.  Shooting in the mid-day sun is not always something to be avoided!  This session took place at 1:00 pm on a gorgeous bright and sunny day in May.  Full sun?  No problem at all!  The first thing we look for is shaded areas with beautiful, soft, even light.  Thankfully the St. Anthony Main area has incredible epic bridges and underpasses that are perfect for shooting in any kind of weather!  We have used this location in the rain, snow, and on sunny days and every time we fall in love with it all over again!  The way that the light bounces around makes even an underpass dreamy.

We also love this area’s natural settings – it really is a “has it all” location!  We took a little hike down to the waterfall to catch a few shots with the trees, rocks, and riverfront.  How sweet are these two snuggling and exploring together!?!  They were a dream to work with and we are so excited for them and their adventure ahead!
