From the moment Betsy reached out to book her wedding, we were incredibly honored! We first met while photographing her friend’s wedding a few years ago, and we were so grateful to be invited to capture her own special day!  Betsy and Nick are both so kind and genuine, and we couldn’t wait to meet up for their summer engagement session in Taylors Falls. The evening of their session was absolutely gorgeous, and the soft, even light made every backdrop along the St. Croix valley stunning.  These two were all-smiles as we set off to explore the cliffs for portraits, and as we walked, we had the best time chatting about their story!

Betsy is originally from Minnesota, while Nick is from South Carolina. The two met while attending Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee where they were both studying to become doctors.  It didn’t take long to realize they were absolutely perfect for each other, and Nick proposed on a dock overlooking the lake at Betsy’s family’s cabin up north. They celebrated with family and friends that evening, and the wedding planning began.  Being that they are both working through residencies, they are very much looking forward to returning to the cabin to enjoy time relaxing with family together.

As we wrapped up their session, we couldn’t wait to share a sneak peek. Betsy’s response completely made our day: “Oh my goodness, absolutely LOVE IT! We had the best time!!! It was so fun working with you and just being in nature. Thankful to have you in this season!!!”  We are beyond excited for these two as they soak up this season as fiancés.  They will tie the knot at The Barn at Stoney Hills next fall, and we can’t wait to be a part of documenting their big day!
