Basilica of Saint Mary, Minneapolis | Wedding

One of our favorite moments on a wedding day is when the groom reads the letter from his bride.  It is such a quiet, private, and sweet moment, and one that seems to set the tone for the rest of the morning.  The big day has finally arrived. Two people who have worked so hard to plan and prepare, finally get to relax, enjoy, and celebrate surrounded by their closest family and friends.  Merissa and Mathew’s morning began at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot, with Mathew in his tux from The Black Tux and Merissa as she finished up hair by Ziel Bridal and makeup by Melissa Tomfohrde.  As Merissa put on her gorgeous Brides of France wedding dress, her grandmother looked on as her beautiful granddaughter prepared for her big day!

Before we knew it, it was time to transition to the church for the ceremony.  The Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis is beautiful and the perfect place for Merissa and Mathew to exchange vows.  Merissa’s father stood by her side as they prepared for the doors to open and for Mathew to finally see his bride!  Following the ceremony, we headed outdoors for photos.  The ladies’ bouquets by Sadie’s Couture Floral were stunning and coordinated perfectly with the bridesmaid dresses from The Wedding Shoppe.

We finished up portraits alongside the incredible Harvest Film Company, who did an amazing job of capturing the day on video.  Following a few portraits with the couple near Loring Social, we headed back to the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel to celebrate their mini reception.  Family and friends mingled and the afternoon ended with a gorgeous cake by The Thirsty Whale.  We are incredibly grateful to have been a part of Merissa and Mathew’s wedding and wish them all the best in the many years ahead!
