Tampa, Florida | Adventures

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of a busy wedding season than to head south for a vacation in the sun!  While Minnesota begins to get colder, we know that Florida can still bring the heat!  We packed our bags and headed to MSP for a flight down to TPA!  Tampa was the very first place in Florida that we traveled together as newlyweds!  It will always bring back sweet memories of the very first time we had experienced the ocean together!

This time we rented a car and drove out to Treasure Island, Florida to stay at the beautiful Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites.  Staying ON the beach is always our favorite and we off-loaded our points to score a two-bedroom suite!  We began our stay with breakfast at the resort’s Sunset Vista’s Cafe followed by some serious pool-time fun!  We hit the beach for the afternoon and spent the day soaking in the warm, Florida rays.  After dinner we took a sunset stroll down the beach and walked over for a late-night ice cream stop at the Shake Shop followed by a moon-lit swim in the pool.

The next morning we were up with the sunrise and explored Treasure Island Beach and Madiera Beach.  We also headed over to explore John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk.  We made it the day’s goal to catch a seagull at St. Pete Beach.  Although we didn’t succeed, we did grab an amazing rooftop dinner at Caddy’s on the Beach, a beachfront spot that allowed us to enjoy another stunning sunset over the water.

Our last morning’s highlight was seeing a dolphin as we walked the beach at sunrise!  We said goodbye to our resort and headed to Clearwater, Florida to spend some time at the beautiful Pier 60 for some more dolphin spotting time!  We drove back to Tampa for some shopping at the International Plaza Mall and enjoyed lunch at Brio (one of our favorite places to eat from our previous trip to Tampa) before flying back home to Minnesota.  Florida, you are so good to us and we will be back soon!
